Some units of Maruti’s new Suzuki Swift and Dzire recalled

1,279 vehicles manufactured between May 7-July 5, 2018 need a fix for their Airbag Controller Unit.

  • Some units of Maruti’s new Suzuki Swift and Dzire recalled

A select batch of cars of the new Swift hatchbacks and Dzire sedans are being recalled because of a possible fault in the Airbag Controller Unit. A total of 566 new Swifts and 713 new Dzires are affected, these were made in the period of May 7-July 5, 2018.

The owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers for inspection and the company will replace the faulty part for free. You can check on the Maruti Suzuki website if your car is part of the affected batch. All you need to do is enter your chassis number on the website to check (for new Swift – MBH and for new Dzire – MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number).

The chassis number of the car is embossed on the vehicle ID plate, you will also find it mentioned in the vehicle invoice/registration documents.
